Plan Options
2025-2026 Meal Plans
Meal plans are designed to provide maximum flexibility, value, and convenience. These meal plans include declining balance funds called Snack Money that can be used in resident dining rooms (i.e., all-you-care-to-eat) and at retail dining venues. To purchase a meal plan, login to your myHousing account at http://housing.hws.edu. Additional meal plan information and specifics can be found HERE.
Meal Plans
Finger Lakes Plan Unlimited access to SAGA (open to close), $325 Snack Money, 8 guest passes, 4 retail equivalency meal swipes per week*, parents eat FREE with students (excluding campus special events), and a FREE birthday cake!
Seneca Plan 15 saga meals per week (including 3 weekly retail equivalency meal swipes per week*), and $200 Snack Money
Geneva Plan 85 saga meals per semester (including 17 retail equivalency meal swipes per semester*), and $475 Snack Money
St. Clair Plan 35 saga meals per semester, 4 meals delivered weekly for 12 weeks^, and $500 Snack Money
Pulteney Plan 35 saga meals per semester (including 7 retail equivalency meal swipes per semester*), and $250 Snack Money
Plus Plan Add-on 4 meals delivered weekly^ for 12 weeks and $200 Snack Money
*Retail Equivalency Meal Swipes: Each plan, based on allowance, may substitute entrees with retail equivalency meal swipes. Equivalency meal swipes can be used for purchases - indicated with the meal equivalency swipe logo - at the Cafe's Grill, Subconnection, Tres Habanero, and The Cellar Pub.
^Weekly Delivered Meals: Every week, students will receive a curated selection of ingredients for their residence meal preparations.
Meal Plan Requirements
- All First-Year students will be required to be on the Finger Lakes Plan.
- Any student living in a residence hall must choose a Finger Lakes or Seneca plan.
- Any student living in a small house must have the Geneva plan or higher.
- Students living in a co-op may elect to not have one of the HWS-designated meal plans.
- Any student living in O'Dell's Village or a fraternity/sorority house NOT on a co-op must have a Pulteney or higher plan.
- Student with Senior class status, regardless of housing assignment, may select from all 4 HWS-designated meal plans.
- Undergraduate students living off-campus must have a Pulteney or higher plan.
- Graduate or non-matriculated students may elect to not have a meal plan.
- Plus plan is available for all residential locations with kitchen access.
- After the 10th day of semester, students are locked into their selected meal plan unless they want to upgrade.
*There are no exceptions to the above criteria unless a student has an approved accommodation through the Center of Teaching and Learning with a documented reduction or exemption.
The dining team will work one-on-one with all dietary-related requests to ensure HWS dining options fit your needs.
Adding Additional Snack Money (formerly "Community Cash")
Community Cash versus Snack Money
Prior to the Fall of 2023, OneCard holders would use "Community Cash" as the primary way to purchase items on campus and at some local restaurants around Geneva. Community Cash could be used to pay for laundry, purchase items at the campus bookstore, purchase bus tickets and senior bracelets and to purchase coffee and pastries at Au Bon Pain. HWS now allows for students to purchase additional "Snack Money" in lieu of Community Cash.
HWS Snack Money
Snack Money, same as always, is the way to purchase additional food and convenience items around campus. When Snack Money that is included with your Meal Plans (above) runs low, you or a family member can easily add additional snack money to your Snack Money Account which is used by simply swiping your OneCard at locations around campus that accept Snack Money.
